Trinity College Dublin Students Union represents about 17,000 students at Trinity College Dublin, one of Ireland's largest and most well known universities. They provide academic support, financial and housing advice, entertainment events and publish the University Times newspaper.

The logo was developed and designed with the Students Union communications office to replace a logo last updated in the late 70's. The design had to be simple and distinct but was required to retain a reference to the pediment of Regents House, home of the SU. Emphasis was placed on the term "TCDSU" which had been the adopted shorthand of the union for many years.

After several different designs and iterations the final design was chosen for it's robust character and simplicity. The single interchangeable colour lending the logo to many different application possibilities.
