WEDDING WINDOW
PRODUCT
This window was designed and built as a backdrop for the wedding ceremony of two friends of mine. The motif was arrived at through discussions with the couple and also a photographic study of the local area in which the ceremony was to take place. As the wedding colours were simple and calm the layered glass effect was achieved through different levels of frosting rather than colour blocks.
The window was built from layered plywood that was sanded, softened and painted to achieve an aged look. The glass was cut to shape by a professional glass cutters and inserted into the window at the end of the construction process, making precision during fabrication very important. Some more detail on the design and build can be found in this blog post.
